High Point Stake Youth Conference 2017 – Palmyra
Packing List
- Bring at least $20 (cash) for dinner (1 night) and for extra snacks along the way.
- We have plenty of space under the buses, but you will have to lug all of your stuff!
- Luggage can be a backpack, duffel or suitcase. Your name prominently labeled in permanent ink.
IMPORTANT: Bring a small day pack or satchel to keep yourself organized while on the bus. It needs to be small enough to fit in overhead storage. Include whatever you want during the day (snacks, medications, etc) and whatever you need to freshen up and change into (if you wish) before the dance in Kirtland on Wednesday evening. You will not be able to access your luggage before the dance. Remember appropriate dress standards for the dance.
Make sure you eat breakfast before you come to the church Wednesday morning.
- Sack lunch to eat on the bus on the way to Kirtland.
- Three days’ worth of clothing: long pants, shorts, or skirts/dresses, shirts/blouses, socks, and underwear (must adhere to the standards in For the Strength of Youth).
- Sweatshirt/sweater (may get cold on the bus).
- Rain poncho or umbrella.
- A pair of shoes for comfortable walking (a lot). Optional extra shoes (in case the main pair gets wet).
- Modest pajamas.
- Comb, brush, hair bands, clips as needed.
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, other personal products as needed.
- Sunscreen, lip balm, bug spray as you think may be needed (we will be outside a lot).
- Medications as needed.
- Plastic bags for your dirty clothes.
- Water bottle with your name on it - STAY HYDRATED!
Make sure your water bottle is filled before getting on the bus.
- Camera or phone camera.
- Scriptures (electronic is fine), notebook/notepad, pen/pencil.
- Phone/camera charger! The buses all have 110V outlets like at home, so you can bring the regular charger. The bus outlets can’t handle high current devices like a curling iron. Don’t leave your charger in the hotel. You will not get to take that epic selfie!
We will be sleeping in a hotel two nights. To make this Youth Conference experience possible we will have from 4 to 6 youth in each room. This could include sharing a bed with another youth. Alternatively, you can bring a sleeping bag and, if desired, a sleeping pad or small air mattress to sleep on the floor. These items should be kept in a sturdy stuff sack that will close securely and that has your name prominently labeled in permanent ink.
